Geocache Description:

This cache is a small, clear lock and lock container with an "Official Geocache" sticker. The terrain rating is high due to the proximity of a 100+ foot drop down to Pitman Creek and some rougher terrain. You can get to the cache without having to get nearer than 10 feet away from the ledge. Please keep a small children away from the cache area since there are no rails along the ledge.

The cache location is a scenic overlook (unofficial) that towers over Pitman Creek on Old Boat Dock Road. I used to stop here as a younger man on trip to my Grandparent's house further up the road. If you didn't feel like fishing, you could sit here and watch the day pass you by.

This portion of Pitman Creek, during the wet season (and minus the current dam work), will take on the waters of Lake Cumbeland and be accessible via a boat from the lake. Summer dry spells cause the lake to go down and the creek proper to appear as it is now. If you are interested in seeing it up close, you can access this portion of the creek/lake via a pull-off a little further south down the road. A short hike over the hill is all that is needed.
