Castle Killibury or Kelly Rounds is a small banked and ditched fort 250m in diameter. Some of the hill fort remains visible but much has been lost to frequent ploughing.
Early Welsh eleventh century writings refer to King Arthur having a court at Kelliwic (or Celliwig) in Kernow. Some think this to be Castle Killibury.
Castle Killibury can be accessed via a public footpath which spurs off from the A39 between Wadebridge and St Kew Highway. Opposite this footpath, and the suggested parking spot, there is an old Celtic cross hidden behind gorse and bushes which is worth looking at. It looks to have four holes but actually only has three, the bottom being just an indentation. But take great care if crossing this very busy main road!
The cache is a disguised plastic screw top jar with a log book, some swaps and room for small TBs and geocoins. There is an unactivated Cacher Geocoin for the FTF.
It is recommended that gloves are worn to retrieve the cache.
