water water everywhere... a long long time ago. forest spend nearly all of his childhood growing up around these parts. and back then things looked very different.
the trees at the trail head were so much shorter, you could see to the other side. there were only a fraction of the houses around, and where the cache sits now, would have been under water.
this lake, was a fun past time for little forest, everything from ice skating and snowmobiling in the winter, to swimming (accidentally) when his home made raft fell apart and sank to the bottom when he was almost half way across. In early spring the the geese would land and nest in these parts, then complain at great length that the water was not yet accessible due to the fact the ice was still occupying the area.
However while on your way to the cache, you will see there is no lake here. With all the new houses popping up in the area, and with all of them getting there water from wells, the lake got smaller and smaller till it was completely gone.
The cache is a small military olive drab colored container at the base of some small bushes. It should be no trouble finding at all. the log has additional waterproofing in the event the container is compromised.
