Geocache Description:

The cache is located in town. There is parking nearby and all but the last few feet can be travelled on pavement.

Discover the cache close to the restored Heritage Railway Station, now home to Parks Canada in Churchill. Find this official Parks Canada cache to learn why the railroad almost didn’t come to Churchill, what a famous English author and the railroad have in common, and where one can find a life-size model of a polar bear maternity den in Churchill. Be sure to visit the Parks Canada Visitor Centre while you’re in the area at N58° 46.061’ W94° 10.473’. No trade items please! Instead, repeat the codeword written on the lid of the cache to the Parks Canada front desk attendant and receive a prize. Happy hunting!

If you would like to find this geocache as an offset cache speak with the Parks Canada front desk attendant at the Heritage Railway Station to receive a free geocaching booklet. Stops in the course include a cairn bearing a poem by Rudyard Kipling, plaques presenting the history of the railroad, and instructions on how to mark coordinates of your own.

The geocache is a small Lock & Lock container and holds a logbook and a brochure. The brochure contains the story of the railroads journey to Churchill. This geocache has no trade items in accordance with Parks Canada Geocaching Guidelines for caches on Parks Canada sites.
