This cache is located in the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers' Fishhook Park. This pretty 46 acre park is fully paved with rolling lawns, trees, swimming beaches and an adjacent day use area with BBQs and shelters. Fishhook Park is well maintained and operated. The park offers restroom facilities with flush toilets and hot showers. A boat launch is available at the day use area. Hiking trails are available. The Northern boarder of Fishhook Park is the Snake river's Sacajawea Lake, formed by the pooling of the Snake river behind Ice Harbor Dam. Fishhook Park is located 19 miles Southeast of Pasco, WA, on State Route 124. Open April 1 until October.
Unless you are camping, please park in the boat launch or picnic parking area and walk to the hide site. You should be able to get there by walking between campsites. You will find a trail of wood chips.
These coordinates give you a good place to leave the wood chip trail:
N 46° 18.910'
W 118° 45.997'
The cache is a peanut butter jar wrapped in camouflage tape and is well hidden in semi-dense tree cover. You may have difficulty with your GPSr signal.
To begin, the container has a log book, boating key chain, measuring tape and travel bug.
Muggles should not be much of a problem near the cache. Please re hide the cache in the exact place you found it.
Happy camping, picnicking and geocaching!
