Geocache Description:

PARKING

There is parking available for a few cars at the following location: N 52° 24.080 W 008° 19.345 The walk from the parking area to the cache is 700m and takes approximately 15 minutes. It is a steady climb, but fine for families. Not suitable for pushchairs.

ABOUT THE CACHE AREA

DARBY'S BED, near Galbally, Co Limerick This is a megalithic passage grave. According to fable and folklore it is believed that it is the grave of Olill Olum, who was one of the early kings of Munster. It is also believed that the eloping couple Diarmuid and Grainne rested here in their flight from the angry Fionn MacCumhaill. On a clear day there are great views of the Galtee Mountains to the South and Tipperary Town to the North.

ABOUT THE CACHE

No rocks need be moved to find the cache.

We got this idea after a visit to another cache and thought it would be a good idea to have one in Ireland. It is a camouflaged 0.75l clip box. It contains a log and a collection of pens with logos from various locations. Add to the collection by contributing another "logoed" pen. You know the freebie ones you get. There is room for Travel Bugs. When placed it contained log book, a few pens, lottery scratch card for FTF and a TB. The cache is 12m NW of the main structure.
