This cache is a medium size Lock n Lock placed at the base of
Wabush Mountain. The road which leads to top is used by Nav Canada
to maintain the Navigational Devices located in the building at the
top.
The area is popular with berry pickers in the fall and with
hikers and snowmobilers in season. In my prime I used to hike this
hill and my best time from base to top and return was 42 minutes.
That was not the day the bear followed me down either!!!!
If you hike up and down in a shorter time let me know and I will
buy you a coffee. There is room to park your vehicle at the base
There are also two other caches near so you can make your drive in
here worthwhile.
Along with the bear spouse and I have seen hawks, gulls, grouse
and a lot of song birds. Of course there are always a few squirrels
and the odd porkpine, a coyote was once trapped near here too.
