Geocache Description:

This cache is a five-mile biking/walking cache along the Route 104 bike paths.

Note: This is a multicache with a twist. Please read the complete cache description. You need to collect clues to the final location at each of the waypoints.

I have been wanting to place a cache along this nice set of bike paths for a while.

For as long as I can remember, this section of road has been called the "104 Corridor" mostly by the news media for traffic reports and weathermen for lake-efftect snow reports. Hence the name of the cache.

This is a seven-part multi-cache, which will take you all the way along Route 104 from Bay Road to Salt Road, a distance of 5-6 miles (if someone drops you off at the beginning and picks you up at the end), or round-trip about 10.8 miles if you park in one spot and then go from WP1 to the final and back to your car. If you do this, I suggest parking at North Ponds Park (N43 12.960 W77 26.384), then hiking west to the first WP and then east for the rest to the final, and then backtracking back to your car. North Ponds has plenty of parking, is along the trail, and is roughly midway along the length of the bike path. Naturally, you could park at various spots along the way where Rt. 104 intersects the various N/S roads and go after the individual waypoints closest to those spots (not all waypoints have safe parking nearby), but that would be cheating and considered not in keeping with the theme of the cache. The cache is intended to be biked/hiked (let's get some exercise!) That being said, cache how you want. I am not the Cache Police.

The bike path is handicap-accessible, but the waypoints are a little into the woods slightly off the paved path, so not wheelchair-accessible. I rated it a 3 on terrain mainly due to the length, but the trail itself is probably a 1.5.

The first six waypoints are clear preform containers attached to trees. You should be able to see the information for the next cache through the container, so no need to open them up. They are all hidden similarly. Most are within 20 feet of the bike path (WP2 is a little further off the paved path in some trees).

Each waypoint contains the coordinates to the next waypoint, plus a number associated with the letters A-F. Make sure to note the numbers, as you will need them to locate the final.

The final is a 30-cal ammo can. The final coordinates are N43 13.ABC W77 24.DEF. The cache initially contains a logbook, a few trade items and some travel bugs I picked up along my travels. There is a $2 lottery scratch-off card for the FTF prize.

UPDATE 8/4/2019: All stages checked and rehung with new wire. Final is restocked with all new swag.
