Geocache Description:

Beautiful area near a De La Salle monastery, nice and flat, slightly wooded area

This is a cache placed for and under the supervision of my scout leader, who after many years of dedication to the Scouting movement is ending his leadership, and this was placed during his last camp as leader, he helped and guided me through my Queen's scout award, as he has with many other scouts. He is a member of the Navy but he arranges work around scouts, he truly is a great asset to the scouting movement and it will be a shame that he is stepping down, he is writing a book with all his stories from his experiences during his time at scouts and I look forward to reading them.

Now a bit about the location, it is near my favorite site for camping, near St. Cassians Monastery run by the De La Salle brothers, we are the last scout troop allowed to camp there and have done for around 20 years. Really beautiful area with a small village about a miles walk away with a train station that can be used to get near the cache.

I introduced a few people to geocaching while on this camp and they are all curious like myself to see how many people find this cache, it is filled with little scouting things such as our troop badge which I would like to be left in there if possible.

So after finding this cache, please raise a glass to the great man, Roger "Splodge" Stevens.
