Ever noticed the Valley View / Mark's Canyon trail marker on the ridge trail? Does it look like impossible bushwacking? There really is a Valley View trail. The unimproved trail follows a ridge down into Mark's Canyon. Portions are overgrown, but it is passable. You can see much of the trail on Google Earth. We've included waypoints to help you find the trail from the top or from the bottom along Mark's Canyon trail. Ribbons in the trees help mark the trail in the trickier sections.
The years have gone by and I haven't been down this trail to maintain the marking flags. So here's a .gpx of the track for this trail
A small lock & lock contains a Starbuck's gift card for the FTF, as well as some poison oak wipes, LED mini light, and a few other items. The cache is not located near poison oak, but there is plenty around, so be aware if you are bothered by it.
