“Michigan Spirit
Quest”
The Michigan Spirit Quest series of
geocaches will take you to a number of historic cemeteries
built by MICHIGAN Pioneers. This series is inspired by and is a
continuation of the Indiana Spirit Quest caches created by
SixDogTeam. In just over four years, the SPIRIT QUEST has grown to
over seven hundred caches and the hiders have grown to fifty cacher
teams in 5 states and one province, most of which are comprised of
Dogs and their Humans. Over 1,000
cachers have logged over 20,000 finds. One cache machine found 102
ISQ caches in a single day (daylight hours
only).

"Tucker Cemetery"
WELCOME TO Tucker
Cemetery. This is a small forgotten cemetery in a rural area. I
have been visiting family on this road for years and never knew
this cemetery was here until this summer
(2008).
Information from Robert
Nichol:
This cemetery began
about 1860. It is now owned by the Bridgehampton Township, Sanilac
Co., MI and is no longer active.
The cemetery was swept
by a cadaver sniffing dog in 2004 when about 190 grave sites were
identified. Many of them lack head stones or markings of any kind.
This is consistent with the stories of persons being buried as they
died during a smallpox epidemic in the 1870s.

On your walk to the
cache, look at the headstones that are all in a line. You will find
several young children from one family that died within days of
each other.

grave... If you find a fallen US flag, please stick it back in the
ground or replace it. As always, please be respectful, and cache
