This cache will bring you to
the Christ of the Ohio statue, high on a hill above the Ohio River
in Troy, Indiana. When my family would go boating when I was a
child, I would see this statue from the water. I think that many
travelers along Hwy. 66 pass by without realizing this beautiful
monument overlooks their journey. Until I hid this cache, I had no
idea of the powerful story behind its creation. To read the story,
simply click on the “User’s Web Page” link above (just under the
cache size) to visit the the Perry County, Indiana,
website.
NOTE: As you go up the hill
toward the cache site, you will see 2 lanes that lead to the
monument area. DO NOT USE THE FIRST LANE. It is a private
driveway. Use the second lane. There is plenty of space to park at
the top. You are searching for a decon container. BYOP! Enjoy your
visit to this beautiful monument!
P.S. When I placed this cache,
I stumbled upon a letterbox close by. So don't forget to bring your
stamps if you letterbox! This would be a 2-for-1
experience!
