Geocache Description:

A cache to celebrate the Welsh Tudor Dynasty!

Henry Tudor was born at Pembroke Castle in 1457. In 1471, when the Yorkist Edward IV was crowned King of England, Henry was forced to flee these shores and seek refuge in France. In due course Richard III ascended the throne of England and was deeply unpopular. Henry Tudor was seen as the real alternative, and on August 9th 1485, having amassed an army of French and Scottish soldiers, he landed at Mill Bay, Pembrokeshire. There he marched north to Bosworth Field, gathering soldiers from Wales as he did so. On 22nd August 1485, despite being outnumbered, Henry Tudor defeated Richard III and became Henry VII, thus starting the famous Tudor dynasty that did so much to shape Britain as we know it now.

This cache has been placed to celebrate England's Welsh King!
