From Long Green Head the track begins a gradual ascent across the valley side. The track is very pleasant and passes several babbling streams. It becomes a little narrower on Lowther Brow but is still good for cycling. Drawing level with the tip of The Tongue, after a gate, a cross-path goes over the stream and links to the track on the west side of Hagg Beck. If you follow the suggested circular route, this is the return point and you could find a spot near here to leave bikes while you do the two caches on The Tongue. Bikes are not allowed on The Tongue and wouldn't be very practical anyway.
Stay on the east side of Hagg Beck, on a good track, until it crosses over to join the west bank track. Keep heading north until the waypoint below, where a rising path leads up onto the north end of The Tongue. Follow a small quad-bike track south to the cache. This is the easiest way up onto the ridge and also gives the best views.
At the cache you get a great view north to the head of the valley - Threshthwaite Mouth. The cache is a bottle 'pre-form', which makes a drinks bottle when expanded. The FTF gets to break the seal! The cache is by an impressive holly tree. After finding the cache head along the ridge for the Tip of The Tongue - the view south to Windermere dramatically opens up in front of you.
