Welcome to Uppsala, the fourth largest city of Sweden with aprox. 185 000 inhabitants.
Take your time to stop and visit our beautiful city.

Välkommen till Uppsala, Sveriges fjärde största stad med ca 185 000 invånare.
Susa inte bara förbi på motorvägen utan ta er lite tid att besöka vår vackra stad.

Sites of interest:
Uppsala Cathedral: Scandinavia's largest church, 118.7m high, where Carolus Linnaeus and Gustav Vasa among others lie buried.
Uppsala Castle: From 16th-century, holds several museums and is the residence of the Governor.
Uppsala University Library – Carolina Rediviva: Is the largest university library in Sweden. Exhibits the Codex Argenteus, the "Silver Bible".
Gustavianum: A museum next to Uppsala Cathedral built by professor Olof Rudbeck d.ä. that houses a 17th-century Anatomical earlier used for public dissections.
Old Uppsala: A historical area just outside Uppsala with three huge burial mounds and a 12th -century church.

Uppsala domkyrka: Nordens största 118,7m lång och lika hög, i vilken flera kända personer är begravda bland annat Linné och Gustav Vasa.
Uppsala Slott: Från 1500-talet som idag inhyser tre museer och är bostad för landshövdingen.
Carolina Rediviva: Landets största universitetsbibliotek, med en utställning av bland annat Silverbibeln (Codex argenteus)
Gustavianum: En av de äldre byggnaderna som tillhör Uppsala universitet, en stor kupol på taket innehåller Anatomiska teatern, Den specialbyggdes av medicinprofessorn Olof Rudbeck d.ä. för att utföra och demonstrera dissektioner inför en publik av kollegor och studenter, främst var det avrättade kriminella som användes.
Gamla Uppsala: är ett historiskt område strax utanför stadskärnan Där finns bland annat de berömda Uppsala högar och Gamla Uppsala kyrka, som har varit både domkyrka och ärkebiskopssäte.
