Purkki on isohko micro. Kätkö on sinänsä helppo löytää, mutta loggaus voi olla jästien vuoksi vaikeaa! / The container is quite a big micro. The cache is easy to find, but logging can be difficult because of muggles!
Rovaniemen nykyisen linja-autoaseman suunnittelivat arkkitehdit Pulkka,Leppänen&Rajala 1956 ja asema avattiin vuonna 1959. Matkahuollon tilojen lisäksi siinä oli Matkaravintola Oy:n itsepalveluravintola sekä ylemmässä kerroksessa pieni Hotelli Aslak.
Rovaniemen linja-autoaseman kattojen profiilissa voi hahmottaa pohjoisten tunturien muotoja. Etelästä saapuvalle tämä onkin ollut Lapin portti. Muutama vuosi myöhemmin kuuluisa arkkitehti Alvar Aalto käytti samaa teemaa läheisen Lappia-talon katossa.
Sama arkkitehtitoimisto on suunnitellut myös Kemijärven ja Sodankylän linja-autoasemat. Kovin nykyaikainen rakennus ei enää ole, niinpä vanhan linja-autoaseman purkamisesta keskustellaan välillä.
Present Bus Station of Rovaniemi was planned by architects Pulkka,Leppänen&Rajala in 1956, and it was opened 1959. There used to be a self-service restaurant in the Bus Station and a small hotel upstairs.
In the profile of the roof you can find the shapes of the fells of Northern Lapland. For many people coming from south, this was the gate to Lapland. Few years later, the famous Finnish architect Alvar Aalto used the same theme in the roof of Lappia House nearby.
The same architects have planned also the Bus Stations of Kemijärvi and Sodankylä. The building is not very modern anymore, so sometimes there is discussion about wrecking it.
