When you get to the park,look for the trail access leading away to the east. Not too far of a walk, but beware the mosquitos could carry you away before you find the cache. They work thick on the day of the hide, and they feasted. But don't let that discourage you. Nice quiet park on the Jump River. On the last weekend in April the town hosts what is believed to be the first canoe race of the year in Wisconsin. The Sheldon canoe race is approx. 10 miles and starts at the Jump River Park and ends in Hayley Park. The conditions are different every year: sometimes its 70 and sunny, sometimes it snows, sometimes their is still ice on the sides of the river, sometimes the river is still high from spring runoff, other times you'll have to walk your canoe.
Sheldon is a largely agricultural area, main industries in town include Dairyland Implement and the Sheldon Co-Op. The area also has a growing concentration of Amish.
