Geocache Description:

This cache was first placed at an environmentaly sensitive position and REMOVED. my apologie.

I walked this spot with my buddies and thier dog today after work. I planned on showing his owners their first find, but the map search showed none there. I was surprised, but my prefered access is in a residential dead end in a pretty small neighborhood. I don't know why but I'll just say it. Access is not suggested from the Mass Pike exit ramp.

A slightly longer hike can be enjoyed by parking along Rt. 30 at aproved locations. I encourage anyone to enjoy it to keep a traffic low at the dead end. Parking is allowed at curbs of the closest nieghborhood street but not at the dead end. It would be a shame if that changed. I have met homeowners there and they are plesant to responsable trail users.

A nice view is also offer by passing the cache from the west approch and continuing a short distance to the end of the point. In reverse, shoud you come from the east, a short walk brings you to the dam. Crossing it, the trail continues around the lake. Check your trail for trails one the far side of the cove. Locals will recognise the entire cove area as called "the overflow" and it is indeed the outlet cove of the three basin lake.

The canister is a medium kool aid powder bottle. Be sure to replace the bottle so it a positioned with the cap upward when returned to prevent water entering.

It is water front area and there are also sturdy rustic unrailed bridge structures over moving water in the area. It will definitly require extra child supervision and caution. Snow, ice and rain should also warrent extra caution as well as the posability of thin ice on the lake. Be aware that the dam and area trails are recieving some S.P. TLC at present. The wooden tier bridge is new at the dam area for the crossing of improvment project equipment and will hopefully be removed soon as work looks almost finished.

Fishercachers note: The cove is open water in early season. It givies up nice holdover bows as early as ice out as well as into early summer.

Started with a fast flying Ida TB, a mini angel, a VT state kitchen magnet, a small lock and key, and a corona pin.

A led kechain light is intended for the FTF.
