Geocache Description:

The cache is on the large side of small. It is located on a Nature Trust that has in recent years been of interest to the newspapers, an area museum, and local historians. It can be found near a maple grove on an old foundation, where in 1904 Theresa McCauley Robinson met her demise.
Use caution and steady footing when nearing the old homestead as there are several holes to loose ones footing in.

William Robinson was quickly tried and convicted for the murder of his wife, Theresa and sentenced to hang. The hanging of William was the last in Kings County. Much speculation surrounded the case and still does to this day. If one is to ask around, many detailed facts and documents can be found, as well as many 'details' not on record, that is the stuff of urban legend. Both avenues of info are more than interesting to say the least. It is an absolutely gorgeous hike, and as it is a Nature Trust, please take care to leave it as you found it, park the Jeep and go in on foot...When it seems you are close enough to the cache to leave the driveway in search of the foundation, it is easiest if you stay on "the driveway" just a little bit further and then rely on your GPS from there.....Happy Caching....:)
