Geocache Description:

The doomsday book noted that High Wycombe had six mills on the river Wye and it is on the former site of one of these mills that you will find this cache. High Wycombe was a mill town through Medieval and Tudor times, with the manufacture of lace and linen cloth. The paper industry was the most notable in 17th and 18th century High Wycombe. Due to High Wycombe being built in and around a chalk valley the Wye's waters were rich in chalk, and therefore ideal for bleaching the pulp. It was not long before paper had become the dominant industry at the mills. This cache is at the only remaining memory of the industry in this area. It is now a retail park (with free parking) serving hundreds if not thousands of customers every day and therefore it requires a degree of stealth to avoid being detected. You should be able to do this as a cache and dash combined with a little shopping. Due to the limited amount of space on the log paper please sign with your initials only.
