Geocache Description:

Micro has easy terrain, final is quite steep, but no need to step off trails for both.

It is unlikely that you will see a bear in this area when you go on the hunt but ... they are known to have been around. There has been a lot of development in this area which has moved the wildlife to other locales. There are a lot of resident rabbits in and around the first trail, and deer are seen all over. Owls have been spotted along with woodpeckers. A family of about five ravens do hang out too.

This multi cache is our first cache placed by myself and my son. It is a micro followed by a cache full of toys and useful stuff. On release there is a 2008 BC geocoin, mini Axe body spray, wallet, a disposable camera, a bouncy ball and lots of other fun swag. Please do not leave tacky swag. The first stage micro (not camo'd) is located on a trail that is a nice slow introduction to the trails that are yet to come (you can walk it, horseback ride it, or bike it). A dog can accompany you on all stages. This micro isn’t very hard to get to but may be hard to find. For both stages no bushwacking is required, and your feet stay planted on the trail at all times.

The second stage though requires a good level of fitness as you will be hiking a short distance at a relatively steep incline (not toddler friendly at all). These are on actual true Metchosin paths in recognized and mapped parkland so please remain on the trails. The cache is a two kg plastic peanut butter jar inside a grey plastic bag.

It is unlikely that you would see very many muggles on the second stage, but the first stage is used at certain times on a relatively regular basis so please rehide caches carefully.

The final is not far from the first stage, no need to drive anywhere. But after this hunt you may want to venture on to the other caches in the vicinity. If you are into night caching, the first stage is feasible but I would be reluctant to do the second stage due to the terrain. Be mindful of the environment, practice Cache In Trash Out.
