On the Way to Shoal Creek Preserve Traditional Geocache
Rubicon Cacher: There has been a lot of clearing in the area. Although the cache was still there, there's no longer a good hiding spot in that area. I picked up the old cache. Possibly, in the future I may place a cache in that location again once the clearing is done.

“On The Way to Shoal Creek Preserve” is located on Forever Wild property less than 0.25 miles from the entrance to Shoal Creek Preserve. An archived cache, “Forever Wild – GCPFVJ” was nearby.
Shoal Creek Preserve is located in Lauderdale County, Alabama, and is part of the “Forever Wild” program. The “Forever Wild” purchases lands for general recreation, nature preserves, and additions to Wildlife Management Areas and state parks.
Shoal Creek Preserve is approximately 298 acres and has 4.5 miles of hiking trails and 2 miles of horse trails. The Shoal Creek Preserve has beautiful streams with cascades and small waterfalls. The Preserve has a wide variety of beautiful wildflowers, hardwood stands, and a variety of wildlife. Access to Shoal Creek Preserve is via an unimproved road off Lauderdale County Road 61.
The cache has been replaced and is now a camouflaged lock-n-lock container. When placed, the cache contained a variety of trade items. If you take an item, please leave an item of equal or greater value. Since this is not intended to be a Travel Bug Hotel, you are welcome to take a geocoin or travel bug item without leaving one.
PLEASE – don’t take a Geocoin or Travel Bug if you don’t intend to move it to another cache. Geocoins and Travel Bugs are actually private property placed in caches with the intent of traveling from cache to cache. If you take a trackable item, please record it on geocaching.com and move the item to another cache as soon as possible.
Note: The new container is about 10 feet from the previous hiding place. At the new location, my GPSr reading drifted from 0 to about 20 feet from GZ. Since my accuracy was only about +/- 20 feet, I am not changing the posted coordinates. I have added a hint, however.
