Nanook56: Time for this one to be archived. My Dad (Nanook56) has hung up his caching shoes for health reasons. Hope you all enjoyed this one while it lasted. Thanks--seanlee1969

This is the end of this trail, I think. It's a high view over Paynes Creek not long before it reaches the Sacramento River. The last 70 feet to my hide make this a 2 instead of a 1.5 because of crevices and footing. I hope you have a little trouble with exact location. Park at 40 15.956N and 122 11.924W, same as for "Off the Beaten Path".
I was hoping to get to Cathartes Aura by biojava on this trail--you will have to get that one from Hwy. 36, unless you are a deer! Instead, I found a beautiful spot to take the family for a picnic--best place I've found yet. You can look up-creek or down-creek from this vantage point and a V of the Sacramento River is visible past a cliff. Riparian habitat below. While there, 6 people who had been there before showed up for THEIR picnic--one guy had lived not far away some years ago. Had a nice little conversation with them. Expect about a 1.3 mile round trip--roughly 2/3 of it is shaded. Park at 40 15.956N and 122 11.924W, same as for "Off the Beaten Path". The container is camoed, contains a FTF button with $1.00, Muggle Card, Carabiner with Chevy emblem, green key chain flashlight, log, pencil.
Please hide as you found it, use CITO principles, because a few visitors haven't. We geocachers will increase traffic here, but it's a location not to be missed! Thanks.
9/3/08--Congrats to Big Bear for FTF. I dropped both difficulty values since it seemed easy to him. Future finders please comment-too high? Too low? Thanks.
