Courthouse Falls Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Fiddlestix_NC: We had planed on replacing this one, but on the way out discovered that one of the bridges along the fire road was damaged, and we did not dare to attempt driving over it. Unable to walk to the falls due to a knee injury, we decided it was time to archive this one.

Geocache Description:

Located off Forest Road 140, Summey Cove trail leads to our favorite waterfall in this area. It’s a relatively easy hike down (although up is a little more trying on your knees). And the view is spectacular ... it is well worth a visit!

The easiest way to access the area is from Highway 215 (from GCVYNG). Below are the coordinates for parking, and the spot where the trail leads down to the waterfall. The walk to the trail is very pleasant, and scenic as well ( ~0.27 miles) There are two other paths that are overgrown that you will pass before you get to this path. You will want to take the trail with the blue blaze.

The cache is located above the falls … just before the stairway down, and should be well protected from weather and muggles.
