Hoosier_Reviewer: Attention cache owner,

It has been brought to my attention that the Charles C. Deam Wilderness area now prohibits geocaching.

The land managers have requested that we archive all active caches and prohibit all new caches. If you feel that there is an error and your cache isn't on their property, please email me at Hoosierreviewer@gmail.com

Thanks,

Geocache Description:

The Woodland Witch has hidden her gold! Is it safe to seek it?

Greetings and salutations! Please enjoy this cache. Note that this can be part of a series of four, to include "Lost Marbles" and "The Handy Man", and "The Frog Prince"... or you can just do this one. Either way, have fun!

Anyone that's gone after the cache "The Frog Prince's Treasure" (GC1FCOT) or attempted to solve "Lost Marbles" (GC1MH2F) has probably wondered how the Frog Prince got turned into a frog in the first place. (You weren't?! Well humor me then and say "oh yeah, I was just wondering that" or something similar...) Turns out that there was once an evil Woodland Witch roaming these woods. As witches tend to do, she had accumulated a golden treasure which she hid in the woods. It was during his search for this treasure that the Frog Prince picked up the curse that changed him into a frog and laid waste to his cottage. The question remains as to whether the Prince was succesfull in vanquishing the witch before the curse took effect. (What is it with witches and princes? I mean, drama, drama, and more drama. Every time you see them in a story or movie or anything. But I digress...) Anyway, somewhere out here in the Hoosier National her treasure chest awaits you and your little GPSr doohickey to discover! The treasure does contain REAL GOLD and gold coins. (The bottle with gold leaf suspended in mineral oil looks cool, and is, but it probably doesn't have 50 cents worth of gold all told since that leaf is hammered so thin!) The coins are current issue $1 gold coins and there's five of them (so leave some for the next cacher, dang it!) The treasure also contains the usual assortment of off the wall junk, er, wonderful prizes (yeah, that's it!) that you typically find in a geocache. There's a bit of magic left in the treasure such that the box itself will give you a hint as to whether the witch is still around. Make a guess in your posting. As always, thanks for looking! Oh yeah, a TB dog tag from geocache Black Pond (GCT51J) by nedludd and FuzzyBrown is/was in there. I found that one today and moved it here. The black pond spot is way cool and highly recomended!

WOW!!! Congrats to redhawk44p and Cherokee Lee for being FTF. This must be some kind of record for a cache this far out in the woods. It was published as of 7:09 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 1st, and found on Tuesday, Sept. 2nd with the report of the find posted around 4:30 p.m. GOOD WORK, TEAM! CACHE ON!
