Do you remember the first time you found a geocache in parking lot? Did you find it illuminating, or was it like light pollution obscuring the stars? Did it make your face light up, or did it turn you off? Like them or leave them, parking lot caches are here to stay. Some are in interesting locations, others in places you happen to be running an errand anyway. You can fill the need for a quick cache fix and be on your way. Run up your numbers, find them when you are nearby, or ignore them completely. The choice is yours.
It can be a difficult problem. Where do you hide a cache that is easy to get to so everyone can reach it? Something so obvious that it won’t be spotted by someone who isn’t looking for it? A clever hiding spot right out in the open? Sometimes, with enough thought, the proverbial light bulb goes on and an answer is found. Like flipping a switch, illumination shows the path. What was unclear before is suddenly obvious. You just need to grab hold of the solution.
A simple and elegant solution to a complex problem. Not everyone will like it, but it can spread like an electric current across the landscape. And it is here to stay. That is the American Way.
