Flight to Nowhere Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Wolphin: Alas, I had hoped to get down there these holidays and replace it, but I only got as far as Pemberton and no further and its been way too long, so I'll archive it and if I can get down there I'll see if it can be resurrected. But that could be months if not years away based on how things have been turning out for me lately :(

Geocache Description:

This is an easily accessible cache in the forests of the south west. It is possible to drive (or even fly) to within a few metres of the cache which is strategically hidden under some scrub.

Note - Oct 2017 - Apparently the log is wet and needs maintenance. I probably won't be down that area until early next year, just letting folks know I know about it and will do my best not to forget next time I'm in the area

This is the first of what I hope to be a series of caches at remote airstrips since a friend of mine who flies mentioned it was always a shame to discover he was flying over caches with nowhere to land. With this cache, there is an airstrip right beside it.

The airstrip in question is a mystery. It does not appear in my country airstrip guide or on my aviation charts. It literally is in the middle of nowhere, but not marked. There is a windsock, but its not functional, which ranks it above the Northcliff airstrip which is one of the roads out of town.

I suspect is may be an ex-military training strip as we've come across military folks down there before.
