I did some scouting of the area last week and identified a
few
places where a cache might be nice. I hid one at a similar
trail-head earlier in the week (Fire Trail 42-1)[GC1G097]. This one
is a
trail-head cache leading into the Mulholland Open Space
Preserve. Ample parking is available at the trail-head.
You are looking for a small Lock-n-Lock container; 3"x5"x4"
in
size. The cache is hidden a short walk up the hill (less than
100
feet) from the trail-head sign. It is hidden just off the edge
of
the trail and does NOT require any bush-wacking. You can
reach it
from the trail itself. I have rated the terrain a 2 due to
the
steepness of the short hill climb, however, during the wet,
winter
months it may become a 2.5 or even a 3 due to the slipperiness
of
the dirt road. The open space is open from one hour before
sunrise
until one hour after sunset; please do not hunt this cache during
restricted hours.
Please be sure to close the container carefully when
re-hiding
to help maintain its water-tightness. Also, PLEASE take the time
to
be sure it is re-hidden completely, in such a way that it can
not
be seen by non-cachers walking past. This one could become
muggle-bait quite easily if not re-hidden properly.
Thanks.
Original contents is a collection of standard cache trinkets.
I
have also placed two Travel Bugs that need to be moved on.
Enjoy, and Keep On Caching!
