Geocache Description:

Chestnut Ridge Metropark

Many varieties of birds and animals can be spotted from this area. You might just see a Kingfisher, a turtle or two on a floating log, a Great Blue Heron, or even the more elusive Hooded Merganser. If you’re here at the right time of year, you’ll hear the Spring Peepers in chorus. It’s more secluded than the other views of the pond, so take a few minutes to enjoy the views.

Stay on the paths. The rangers won’t be happy if you get into the rough. No bushwhacking required.

Park hours and regulations are listed on the website. There is another cache hidden in the park on one of the trails. Take a hike to find it – it’s a great view too.

The cache itself is a small metal container with logbook. It is put in place using Velcro. This Columbus Metro Parks CMP-Chestnut Ridge cache is placed with the permission of park management using Permit Number GC06-002-08, which is required for metropark caches. A little prize for the FTF.
