Geocache Description:

ThunderCats is an American animated television series that was developed and produced by Rankin/Bass Productions, debuting in 1985.

Thunders Barrow on the other hand was built a bit before thundercats, but I like the name symmetry.

So for my 5th trail I invite you to join me on a 5 mile walk around Thunders Barrow. It's an old settlement where someone lived up to the end of the Romano British period.

Next to cache 4 there is a little hill you can walk up for a nice view, and I think that's Thunder's Barrow. If you stand on it please yell the thundercats chant just to amuse the locals

Getting there is interesting, since the area is a bit like a peninsula with all the roads going around it. Try looking for Erringham Road in Shoreham and then follow sign posts to Mill Hill. Cross over the big arch bridge which goes over the A27 and keep going. Park at Beeding Hill which is the 3rd (and I think last) car park at the end of the long single track road.

The Trail :-
It's a bit windy and exposed on the walk, and it's quite a high trail giving some really nice views of Shoreham and Lancing as well as Hogworts (the college)

The paths are very well used, beware of muggles ! Paths seem fine, nettle free, and firm when it's dry but I expect the chalk surface is slippery when wet. Saw lots of cyclists so cycle if you dare !

On the return trip after the final cache keep following the road (bridleway) back to the main road you drove up to the car park. Please be careful of cars as this is a single track road. Also watch out for tanks (?!!), as someone has put up a roadsign saying tanks crossing just after Erringham Farm ....huh ?!

As well as the nice views there are cows, sheep, rabbits, and hawks to look out for.
