In Rustic Canyon off Will Rogers State Park. A moderate hike with some very narrow trails along the creek.
Cache is an ammo can loaded with lots of goodies. This is my very first cache and I was excited to hide it!
There are several ways to get to the caches in Rustic Canyon, but the way I know is from Will Rogers State Park. Take the Backbone Trail up into the hills. The unmarked trail down to Rustic Cyn. is about .2 miles after your cross the bridge at 1 mile. You'll emerge near the old barn and will find a series of caches up and down this canyon. If you want to return to WRSP, be certain to find the small trail that runs next to the creek at the "graffiti building" -- do not take the road. Remember to keep the creek in sight on your right and you won't go wrong. And at the waterfall, cross the creek and take the trail to the right.
And I averaged multiple readings as the tree cover was problematic. If the first few finders can send me their readings once they locate it, I'll continue to average, as well as check again on my next visit.
