Geocache Description:

The first in a series of caches based on the heroes of the Justice League. The Martian Manhunter is the first, the one to summon other heroes to combat threats that alone, a single hero may not be able to defeat. He often likes to find a quiet place to meditate and reflect on his experiences living among humans.

The Martian Manhunter is one of the first heroes to appear in DC comics. He was brought to earth by accident and has been "stuck" here ever since. His race has died off, and he's the last of his kind (sort of). He's been hiding among humans learning and helping, but always in disguise (he's a shape shifter). He's more powerful than Superman, is almost as good a detective as Batman, and has a vast array of abilities that make him a one-man force for justice. Welcome to Swindler's Cove!

An amazing little park in a discreet corner of Washington Heights/Inwood, is one of Manhattan's restored wetlands. A little beach near Sherman Creek on the Harlem River, at the east end of Dyckman Street, with a little park where you can sit, rest and relax. As you walk through this little area, you can see the Peter Jay Sharp boathouse, built by the New York Restoration Project (Bette Midler's group), at a price that is said to have well exceeded $1 million. The beach may be muddy at low tide, but the area can not be beat. Difficulty rating is at 1.5 due to dirt path, Terrain rating is 2.0 for the cache area.

UPDATE 5: Summer hours are usually: 8am - 8pm, seven days a week. Winter hours are usually: 8am - 4pm, seven days a week.

**DO NOT attempt from the highway. Closest access is from the corner near Dyckman and 10th Avenue.

Note: Cache is a small camo'ed container.

There is a log, a pencil (but BYOP just in case), and an odd assortment of items, as J'onn J'onzz likes to pick up random objects on his adventures.

PLEASE rehide cache container as well as it was found. Beware of muggles! Also, there are video cameras watching the area. Just sit and tie your shoe and you'll have a perfect opportunity to make the grab. Enjoy the park!
