Although varieties of taro are grown in nearly all the world’s
tropical regions, the plant maintains its closest ties to Hawaii.
For many Hawaiians, in fact, taro (also known as Kalo) represents
the staff of life.
One Hawaiian legend tells of Wakea (Sky Father) who bore a child
with the Daughter of Earth. It was born prematurely and deformed –
in the shape of a bulb. Wakea buried the body at one corner of his
house and out of his body grew the kalo plant. The couple’s
second-born child, was a healthy boy who would become the ancestor
of the Hawaiian people. The younger brother was to respect and look
after his older brother (the kalo plant) for all eternity and in
return, it would always sustain and nourish his descendants.

Now the cache!!!
I ride past the location on a daily basis but never ventured in
till now. I thought you might want to do the same. The cache is not
located at the posted coordinates but it is somewhere within
the Kalo place mini park. The coordinates just get you to the
starting point somewhat behind the humane Society and Pucks Alley
of the University area. Use caution when grabbing the cache. Many a
muggle frisbee players and Hula Halau's have been spotted in the
area. You will need to hop a low hedge to gain access to the cache.
Please try not to trample the bushes. There is another way in that
will lead you right to the cache if you choose to venture in – It's
sort of a dysfunctional bush maze.
FTF will gets some path tags and a clear star!!!
Congratulations to tomitat001 for the FTF prize and #2's First
FTF!!!
