Nearby (hundred yards or so) is a handy bench for a sit down before carrying on your walk. Note that "Moor Road" nearby is not a public byway or green lane so please don't drive up it or the National Trust will withdraw permission for caches up here.
Scattered over the moor are quite a few patches of whimberry, some of the best being on the quarried slopes of Holcombe Hill near to "Mike's Birthday Cache" (now archived). Whimberries is the name used hereabouts (and many parts of the North West of England) for bilberries, and many folks will have happy memories of whimberry picking in summer. Just here are only a few small plants and if you want enough berries for a pie, you will have to head over towards Peel Tower!
The cache is a very small container, with log book, pencil, and small swaps.
