Boat access to the Black Bay hiking trail at which we are placing two geocaches (on Lake Vermilion, near Cook MN)
Popular demand asks for more geocaches on Lake Vermilion that can be found by boat travel. The Black Bay Hiking Trail Loop was created by Michelle Triska with help from friends, family,Minnesota DNR, and St. Louis County for her girl scout Gold Award project. The two-mile loop is very scenic although there are some industrious beaver that are doing some trail re-modeling! Two caches of ammo boxes have been placed on this trail system. An excellent place to see wildlife. We used a motorized canoe to reach the trail but any kind of boat would work.
