A cache with a view of the falls!
Marcellus Falls these days consists of a couple of dams that Ninemile Creek cascades over. Back in the day, circa 1835, this place was thriving with mills, shops, a tavern and a post office. When I was growing up in the 60s, the post office was all that was left. Even that is gone today. Looking around, it's hard to believe this beautiful spot was one time such a busy, commercially vital area.
There is one small parking spot here, used frequently by people fishing in this area of the creek. In fact, it is where the post office used to be! Avoid the private property on the dam side, but enjoy the view of the falls!
One note of caution- the parking spot is on a blind curve, so please, please be conscious of the traffic!
