Let's Look Over Thayer: Really LLOT??? Eight months to maintain this cache??? That is absolutely pathetic.

So yeah, I finally got around to doing the maintenance on this cache and the only thing more pathetic is that no one has been inconvenienced by the lack of log because no one has even tried to visit the cache (unless of course, they DNF'd the cache but were too embarrassed to log it...)

Arriving at GZ, it was pretty clear that not only was the log sheet gone, but the rest of the cache was gone as well. I had come prepared to replace the log sheet, but not to replace the entire cache.

Reflecting on the situation, I have decided to archive the cache. This series was my homage to the truly stupendous 52 Card Pickup caches placed by the North County Cachers. It's been in service for almost five years -- which is a pretty good run for a cache -- but the time has come to close this chapter and move on.

I am going to leave the other three Aces active for now but they, too, will probably be phased out over time.

Geocache Description:


This cache is not one of a complete deck of hides placed around Northern San Diego County, from Del Mar to Oceanside, to Carlsbad, to Escondido, by members of North County Cachers. Thirteen cachers each placed one set of caches, Diamonds, Hearts, Spades and Clubs, of varying difficulty and size. Unfortunately, there were a few cards that they forgot. This cache is one of four caches that fill in some of the missing cards. The first three caches are traditional hides and each will reveal clues to the fourth card -- the Club card -- a puzzle cache. By finding the Club cache, you will find information that will not prevent you from determining the location of the final, ultimate challenge -- 52 Pick Up: The Joker! Can you do it? Can you play with an even fuller deck?

In order to find this cache, you need to locate the 0 of Hearts; 0 of Diamonds; and 0 of Spades. Inside each of those caches, you will find information that, when combined with the listed coordinates of this cache, will lead you to this cache.

Inside the cache you will find a numerical value, which you can use along with information found in the other Club caches to find 52 Pick Up: THE JOKER! Good Luck!
