Geocache Description:

A walk alongside the River Teifi along the disused railway line to a tunnel. A torch is strongly recommended. GPS signal is very poor due to tree cover and non existent in the tunnel.

Parking is available on the North side of Alltcafan Bridge(N 52 01.683 W 04 21.158) near the path that will take you towards the cache.

The impressively high bridge here, built in 1839 with the sponsorship of John Lloyd Davies Esquire of Blaendyffryn, towers above the Teifi and looks down at a large disused mill with its weir and leat. The once extremely large Alltcafan Mill (the size being testament to the importance and scale of the wool industry around the Teifi) was completed in 1895, and was partially demolished in the 1980s due to its dilapidated condition.

Upstream the river forms an elegant meander, before rushing into the gorge downstream of the bridge. In the side of the gorge, the bed of the old railway line runs under Pont Allt-y-cafan and alongside the river before passing through a lengthy tunnel and emerging further down the valley.

Follow the path at the North side of the bridge down to the old railway line. The GPS signal is poor to non existent once under the trees. Follow the path down river through Alltcafan Gorge until you reach a door into the tunnel.
The cache is at the other end of the tunnel. It is very dark and quite spooky so you are strongly advised to bring a torch. The cache is immediately outside the other end of the tunnel (Western end).
The cache is a small cliplock container suitable for small items. When placed it contained a glow in the dark First to Find badge, a fridge magnet, a Cracker prize, a box of matches, Log book and pen.

If anybody is able to supply more accurate co-ordinates, could they please do so in their log. Thanks.
