Geocache Description:

You're hunting an ammo can hidden along a nature trail in the Arbuckle tract of the Lake Wales Ridge State Forest. There is a day use fee of $2.00 per person, children under 6 admitted free. Deposit fee in the honor fee envelopes daily, and display the tear-away tab on the vehicle windshield or rear-view mirror.

The hike along the Old Cabin Nature Trail is a one mile interpretive loop that will take you through several different ecosystems. The hike will take you around a flatwoods wetlands area, pine flatwoods and a cutthroat seep, the cutthroat seep is a grass that is only found in southern Polk County and Northern Highlands County along the Lake Wales Ridge.

Lake Wales Ridge State Forest, Arbuckle Tract is closed to recreational users during the hunting seasons EXCEPT for hikers on the Florida Trail. This cache IS NOT along the Florida Trail, please do not search for this cache on the following dates.
