While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for the cache owner and block other cachers from placing a cache in the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can’t do so forever.

Nothing seems to happen with this cache listing, so it is now archived, so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. Also, if it hasn’t been done already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

If the owner wants it reopened, send me an e-mail and I’ll be happy to unarchive the cache listing if it still satisfies the requirement/guidelines.

ÅKREHAMN KAI

Havneområdet var tidligere et sted med flere arbeidsteder, så som Åkrehamn sildoljefabrikk etablert i 1913 og som ble flyttet til Husøy i 1995

Rogaland Fiskerimuseum er verdt et besøk når du ferdes på kaien som Åkrabuen kalla det. Museet ligger i et fredet område ved havnen. Museet huser et stort antall gjenstander og fotografier som viser Karmøys fortid som et viktig fiskerisentrum. Museet forteller også kontakten mellom Vest Karmøy og Amerika.

Nora sjøhuset er et av de få sildesalteriene som ennå er intakt.

Skulpturen Sildakånå som står nede ved havnet ble gitt av Skudenes & Aakra Sparebank i forbindelse med bankens 125 års jubileum i 2001.

The harbour used to be a place a lot of people worked, like Åkrehamn sildoljefabrikk which was established in 1913 and moved to Husøy in 1995.

Roglaland fishing museum is worth a visit when you are here. The museum has a lot of pictures and different things that shows Karmøys past as a senter for fishing.

Sildakånå which stands down by the harbour, was donated by Skudenes & Aakra Savingsbank in relations with their 125 year jubileum in 2001.
