Geocache Description:

Another cache in my Wallowa County cemetery series. This search will take you to a beautiful spot in Wallowa County.

To most of the locals in the county this is the Prarie Creek Cemetery. It's located near the east morraine of Wallowa Lake.

Walter Brennan - famed actor in Hollywood - lived and loved Wallowa County Oregon. As a matter of fact, you will drive right past his farm/ranch (the good looking red barn with a funny brand symbol on it) as you drive to this cache. Walter is buried in California - but his son still lives in the county. The coordinates given will take you to a beautiful headstone for the Brennans. Now it's time to do some simple math!

1) From the original 'north' coordinate's last three numbers - subtract how many trombones are numbered in the big parade sung about in "Music Man." OR . . .the same number is known when you remember the last two numbers of the year when the U.S. Declaration of Independence was signed. This will give you the new coordinates for finding the cache.

2) Take note of how long the Brennans were married before Mrs. Brennan died. Take that number and subtract it from the original 'west' reading. This will give you the new 'west' reading for where the cache is located.

You don't have to leave the cemetery! It is not a micro - but it is a small rubbermaid container that holds only a log book, small pencil, and has very little room for anything else.

Find it. Log your name. Then take a moment in the quiet to look out onto the land that cause the early pioneers to settle in Wallowa County.
