This is the fourth in what will be a series
of twenty caches that will have you traveling a "loop" from
Colville, north on Aladdin Road to near the Canadian border on Deep
Lake Boundary Road, and then back around to Colville through
Northport and Kettle Falls. The series will have a few little side
trips but it should be doable in a day with no problem. Please note
that not all of the caches will be placed and active at the same
time. We started with #6 and will get them all completed as quickly
as we can.
This cache is one of the side trips that I
mentioned. It will take you off of Aladdin road to the
right. The road is actually a pretty good road and most
vehicles within reason should be able to reach the cache
destination.
Pull your car into the parking area and enjoy
the view. It is not uncommon to see a lot of different types
of wildlife here. I've even seen moose foraging in the
area seen in the top picture. Quite a peaceful
place.
To get to the cache head down the path (on the left as you are
looking at the lake). You won't have to go to far. Look
for the hand carved trees... you've gone too far. Also when
you step off of the path be careful of barbed wire that has grown
into the trees. The cache is a tupperware like container.
When the cache was placed it
included:
- The typical log items (log, pencil and pencil sharpener)
- Mighty Beanz
- Shrek Playing Cards
- Hand carved Dolphin Necklace I picked up in Guam
- "Mad Doctor" Disney collectable cards
- Bead Necklace Kit
Please be sure to
replace and hide well. The lid should be on tight so water
does not get in.
