St. Peter
Als gesichert können jedoch folgende Fakten angenommen
werden:
Bereits im Jahr 1215 wird eine dem hl. Petrus geweihte Kapelle
erstmalig erwähnt, wo heute St. Peter steht.
In ihrer Inschrift
Tichwinka.

Bochumer Verein für Bergbau und Gussstahlfabrikation
Der „Bochumer Verein für Bergbau und Gussstahlfabrikation“ stellte
im 19. und 20. Jahrhundert Glocken aus Gussstahl her.
„Friedensglocke“ in Hiroschima. Heute ist das Unternehmen
vorwiegend im Bereich Eisenbahnen tätig.

Koordinaten selbst heraus.
Innschrift lesen.

Intro
What have Aachen, Bochum, St. Peter, Jesuits, mining, a church and
a bell of cast steel in common? It seems that even the omniscient
internet doesn't know all answers.
St. Peter
The following facts seems to be assured: In 1215 a chapel called
„Perus“was first mentioned where today the church St. Peter stands
in Aachen. But it's not known when these chapel was construced. In
1250 an order was placed to cast a bell for the chapel. The bell
was to rise alam, so an inscription told „I am to terrify thieves,
robbers, murderers and to serve the welfare by rising sound“. Today
it is assumed that originally the tower containing the bell was
part of the city wall and older than the chapel itself.
The church had a changeful history. In the beginning it was
insignifcant and belonged to the cathedral. In 1260 the rights were
increased by Pope Alexander IV so it was allowed use the chapel to
baptise in emergency situations and to go to the communion at
easter. In 1331 the first priest was established. For a long time
after that only a few things are sure about the church but it
doesn't seem that it had a good time. In 1621 the Jesuits mentioned
that the building was ruinous and they started to renovate
it.
During the second world war the church was destroyed. In 1943 it
burned down because of a firebomb. What was left after that was hit
during a bombing in 1944.
Today St. Peter is a place for German, Croatian and Vietnamese
Christians. There are concerts and exhibitions of modern arts on a
regular basis. Examples of historic sights are a Pietà from the
15th century, a statue of St. Antonius and a icon of the mother of
God „Tichwinka“.
“Bochumer Verein für Bergbau und Gussstahlfabrikation“
During the 19th and 20th century the„Bochumer Verein für Bergbau
und Gussstahlfabrikation“ had a patent to cast bells of steel
instead of iron. During a World Exhibition in 1855 a bell was
destroyed to proof that it was realy made of steel. The competitor
Alfred Krupp, a famous German industrialist, had claimed otherwise.
After that the question of patent thievery was answered too. The
most famous bell of the company might be the Peace Bell in
Hiroshima.
Today the factory produces things out of steel for railway
companies.
And what had all these to do with geocaching? Go to the given
coordinates and find out by yourself. The place where the cache
is hidden is normaly free of muggles. But be aware that all the
muggels waiting on the central bus station can see you searching.
They are the reason for the higher rating. Pretend to be reading
the inscription.
