Geocache Description:


This cache is located near Syofukuji Temple in Fukuoka Hakata.

Syofukuji Temple will receive this ground from Yoritomo Minamotono in 1195, and is the first founded Zen temple in Japan. Although the temple went to ruin by a decline and war of the Muromachi government, it became the present temples and monastic compound by "Taiko-Machiwari" in 1587. The whole precincts of a temple are specified as the historic relics of the country in 1969. Please enjoy the walk of the sacred precincts of a temple.
