THE CACHE HAS BEEN UPDATED DUE TO REPEATED MUGGLING...PLEASE FOLLOW THESE DIRECTIONS TO FIND THE CACHE CONTAINER: THE COORDS WILL TAKE YOU TO A GREAT VIEW "OVERLOOKING THE ROCK" RIVER. AT THE COORDS THERE IS A LOG SHELTER AND AT THE BACK OF THE SHELTER THERE IS A BENCH THAT RUNS ITS WIDTH. ON THE EAST (LEFT) SIDE OF THE BENCH THERE IS A SHORT WALL THAT THE BENCH RESTS ON. IN THIS SHORT WALL, JUST IN FRONT OF THE EAST SIDE OF THE BENCH, THERE IS A ROCK ABOUT THE SIZE OF A HEAD OF LETTUCE AND THAT ROCK IS LOOSE. CAREFULLY REMOVE THE ROCK AND YOU'LL FIND THE CACHE TUCKED IN THERE.
BE SURE TO CAREFULLY REPLACE THE ROCK SO THAT IT FITS FLUSH AND SNUGLY INTO THE WALL - PLEASE DON'T LEAVE IT LOOSE OR IT WILL BE MUGGLED...AGAIN. (THIS ROCK WAS PREVIOUSLY LOOSE - NO DAMAGE WAS DONE TO THE SHELTER TO ACCOMODATE THE CACHE CONTAINER).
The info above isn't really a give away, if you found the shelter then you found the overlook and can enjoy the view and that is the reason for this cache. This one is more about the view then the hunt. Also, this cache consists of a green plastic container with log sheet and pencils. Please replace the cache as found, or better.
When you enter the park, go past the Nature Center parking lot, you will see a sign for "Woodcote" straight ahead and a sign for "Bike Trail" that points to the right; follow the fork that leads to the bike trail and then take that road to the scenic overlook. The park roads should display accurately on your GPSr.
Other than the overlook near the Chief Blackhawk Statue in Oregon, this cache has one of the best views in the Rock River Valley. Feel free to bring a lunch along so that you can picnic while enjoying the view.
In the colder months the road around this park is closed to vehicle traffic but still open to those on foot...or cross country skis.
