My Memories.-dont forget your tweezers
This series is a collection of my experiences in Amarillo, Texas that I will never forget. I will share some information from each one that makes me think the place I have put them is special. If you have memories or pictures of the places I have placed these caches please share them in the log. If you dont want to share that ok just find it and log it. I thought this would be a great experience to learn about fellow cachers.
Paul and Alethea Roads obtained property in Amarillo's Thompson Park, opening "Kiddie Land" in 1951. Devoid of trees or water, it mainly was home to scrub grass and sand burs. Kiddie Land was opened several months later with three children's rides and a makeshift ticket booth made out of a box from one of the rides. The name was later changed to Wonderland, inspired by Alice in Wonderland. This park has been owned by three generations of the same family and continues to grow and squeeze new rides in a small space. Currently, the park plays host to more than 200,000 visitors each year.
When I moved to Amarillo I had two best friends that took me here for the first time where I ride this really steep water slide that no one else seemed to want to ride a lot like 100 times in a row. I enjoyed the park and even returned several times through out the years with friends and family. My favorite picture was taken of me and a little friend of mine sticking my hand in this trash can that oinked when you throw trash inside of it because it had a pig painted on it.
