This cache is the third in a new series of caches meant to bring cachers to many equestrian staging areas and to share my love of this wonderful animal with them. All of the caches will be on or near horse watering spots.
Rattlesnake Bar used to have a wonderful, shaded equestrian staging area with picnic tables, bathrooms and a beautiful stone watering trough, but no more. Since a few caches were recently placed very near the remnants of the old area this cache is very near the newer, starker staging area. There is ample parking and a very short stroll to the cache. About the cache: it is a cammoed coffee can a short distance off the trail containing a log book, pencil and various trade items. When I was walking towards the cache location to place it a few deer were bedded down in the area. The grass is pretty flattened in here, but it is deer beds and trails not necessarily the geotrail!
