Cache in Coloane (Macau) on a nice location not well known to many people.
On the eastern part of Coloane you will find a small village named Ká-Ho. Close to it, there is an artificial lake serving as a water reservoir (Barragem de Ká-Ho).
There is a path around the lake and there are many trails in the hills close to it. The trails in this area offer nice views over the eastern part of Coloane, the airport, the Cotai strip and the golf course.
The suggested and closest starting point is the picnic area at Barragem de Ka-Ho (N22:08.038 E113:34.704). Left of the picnic area you will find some stairs going up. There are some parking spaces available. You can take bus no 15 from Coloane or Taipa. You can get out at the Westin hotel or at Ká-Ho village. Starting from Ká-Ho village requires a little bit more climbing.
Another option is to start at the Parque de Merendas da altinho de Ká-Ho. Another picnic and parking area adjacent the main road towards Ká-Ho. This area is a little bit higher so there is less climbing involved to reach the cache location.
The cache is a black plastic box approximately 25x10x10 cm.
Starting contents of the cache:
- Logbook and 2 pens;
- First to find certificate;
- 2 penlite batteries;
- small compass;
- 2 golfballs;
- game;
- 2 toys;
- Keyring Macau;
- Macau lucky cock;
Please make sure you hide the box very well and put some camouflage. It seems a deserted place but there are muggles visiting....
After finding the cache you can return via the other side of the lake or choose to hike the trails a little bit in the opposite direction. These trails offer nice views over the Cotai strip. On every major crossroad maps and signs are available to get you back to your starting point.
