Geocache Description:

An easy multi cache to highlight the Outdoor Agricultural Exhibit at the Los Altos History Museum. This cache can be done in less than half an hour and is available at any time of day. It's a good one for kids, too.

The Los Altos History Museum is located on one of the last apricot orchards in the Santa Clara Valley. It is open Thursday-Sunday, from noon to 4:00pm.The Outdoor Agricultural Exhibit is open to the public at all times. Bring a picnic and enjoy the towering oaks. To learn more, visit The Los Altos History Museum

The posted coordinates bring you to convenient parking and the entrance to the Los Altos History Museum. Go through the open gate to the left of the building and go around to the back. There you will find the Outdoor Agricultural Exhibit.

Head over to the tool shed. On the back wall are two small plaques. The one on the left is titled "Orchard Equipment." It ends with the quote “Every tool and machine that the farmer uses deserves shelter when not in use, intelligent handling, and frequent overhauling.” This quote is from the publication Farm Knowledge. The last digit in the year it was published is A.

While you’re in the tool shed, check out the big orange tractor. How many times to you see the name "Allis-Chalmers" on the tractor? -count carefully- Add 2 to that number for B.

Now go around to the north side of the old house and find the arbor with picnic tables underneath it. How many tables do you see? That number is C.

Walk over to the Tank House and find the blue water pump located on the west facing wall. The pump has five lines of text embossed on the front. How many letters are in the first word of the last line? That number is D.

Walk around to the opposite side of the Tank House where you will find the Wizard Walnut Huller. How many times is the name "WIZARD" written on the big blue gear? That number is E.

Now go back around the Tank House to the Comfort Station. How many people could it accommodate at one time? this number is F.

The final location is at N37 22.ABC W122 06.DEF
