Geocache Description:

In the 1930's and '40's a tramp named Dick lived in a shed here. He was called the Cheese Eater by those in town because he liked cheese. Kidron had a cheese factory back then that made some really good swiss cheese. The Cheese Eater was hired by Jacob Moser to watch over the ginseng and golden seal grown there. These plants were then harvested and sent to China. It was said that he used to scare off kids that would explore in these woods. The older generation still remember the Cheese Eater, the middle generation the shack, and the young generation know only of the legend of the Cheese Eater.

Enjoy a hike in the woods, the cache is hidden just off the trail. The best parking is in at Kidron Park by the community center behind the ball diamonds.
